Tips for Traveling Overseas
Even though some normalcy has returned, you can't just hop on an international flight with a passport and driver's license like before the pandemic. Travel.state.gov has information and resources to help you prepare for traveling out of the U.S., including country-specific information pages with details for each. They all have their own entry and exit requirements, health conditions and local customs and laws.
You will want to ensure that your passport is up to date because expired ones will not be accepted (routine processing takes 8 to 11 weeks). Although U.S. citizens do not need U.S. visas to travel per se, they may need ones issued by embassies of the countries they hope to visit. Visiting high-risk areas is discouraged because it can put your life in danger; visit the Overseas Security Advisory Council for current information.
